Have you seen it on the Discovery Channel? Cash Cab. Sort of a Jeopardy on wheels. This guy picks up fares and they answer trivia questions for cash, often some pretty decent cash. Its not unheard of for contestants to walk away with a couple thousand bucks! If they get three wrong answers, though, they are kicked out of the cab before reaching their destination. I love the show. Its smart and fun, especially since these unsuspecting folks are caught by surprise. It adds a certain energy, but there are a few things I'm having some trouble with.
First, the guy drives around New York with thousands of Dollars in cash. You know where I'm going, right? A guy gets in and hears, "Hi, you're in the cash cab." and the guy pulls a gun and says, "Hi, give me your money."
TONIGHT ON FOX, AN ALL NEW EPISODE OF COPS, WITH SPECIAL APPEARANCE BY THE GUY FROM CASH CAB!
Contestants have a couple options for help if they don't know an answer. They can call a friend, or do a curbside shout out. The cab pulls over and they call over some unsuspecting schlub for help. The contestants stand to walk away with hundreds of dollars, the least they could do is through the guy on the street 20 bucks for the trouble. Right?
Last, but not least, the winners never tip the driver. Come on! You just made a thousand bucks. Toss the guy a fifty. Help him out. Maybe he can get himself a respectable studio and a suit, or at the very least, some security!
