Bush's State of the Bulls#@t!

January 29, 2008 / by godsblog

"The state of our Union is strong..." Cheers, uproarious applause, Bonfire, build an alter, sacrifice a calf, bring me a virgin! No, seriously, bring me a virgin. {sarcasm Key please.} I guess I shouldn't necessarily beat up on Bush. The State opf the Union address is just more government crap, feel good propaganda for the nationalists and party in power. It is a sickly sweet cocktail for those who don't want to see the world and nation for what it truly is, but out of some bizarre super-optimism where puppies never grow upchildren emdlessly frolic in Gap-Kids clothing under brightly colored rainbows. The rest of us know nuthin' ain't all good or all bad, but you'd never know that in this father-knows-Best-for-the-country schlock.

The State of the Union is not strong. Bush and his Republicrook minions have employed the politics of division, pitting ethnic and racial groups, religions, classes and Americans against each other. They promote gun laws that feed paranoia, deride critics of the war as unpatriotic, communist, ungodly and evil. Illegal immigration has not changed since much in my life time, and yet they have fostered a sense that America is under siege, propagandizing to struggling poor and middleclass Americans that Mexicans are at fault for stealing their jobs, when in fact it is corporate corruption and government complicity that allows companies to gut communities to exploit cheap overseas labor while still collecting corporate welfare fortunes. They publish books calling critics godless, traitors, and when someone defends against those accusations, in true bully form, the Republicrooks cry victim. They have us spying on one another as possible pedophiles or terrorists.

The Bush administration has smiled in our faces while they and their corporate cronies empty the treasury. These obscenely rich proto-feudalists, still not satisfied in their greed, then want to use their influence to cut taxes they don't pay anyway, and try and trick us into letting them have access to Social Security(See my earliier article). Families are struggling, working harder for wages that have not kept pace with inflation-and certainly not with ballooning executive wages. When those struggling souls complain the Republicrooks propaganda wing in talk radio and FOX confuse us, calling email, cellphones, computers and other necessities of modern life luxuries that prove that we are merely whining about the state of our lives, and the state of our union.

They have employed false issues like abortion and gay marriage, issues that should be the domain of the church, of family and public discourse, of understanding and compromise among rational and well-meaning souls, to distract us from the real state of the union, and of the world. We are in a needless war, which McCain said he wouldn't mind seeing us there for a century, that is leveraging our children's futures, squandering our reputation and setting back human rights around the world pre-Nuremburg-something that has and will cost American soldiers their lives and security when captured in war. Gun crimes using AK-47s, assault rifles, and sniper rifles have risen. Rather than addressing the unnecessary and mastabatory proliferation of guns in this society they want us all to carry guns to school, the mall, to church...

Bush and the Republicrooks say they hold the constitution sacred. They want so-called originalist judges on the supreme court. In other words, judges who will side with corporations and pharmaceutical giants against labor and the individual. They want judges who will not assert the seperation of powers- a step towards dictatorship. Their originalist constitution, of course saw Indians and Blacks as less than a White man, and did not really recognize women, especially their right to vote. And yet while bitching about the original intent of the constitution, a socialist document(We the people...)that has always expanded to afford rights for everyone-recognizing the oversights of the originalist document-they want marriage ammendments to narrow the constitution's protections.

They attack and impune feminists, social activists(spokespersons for the voiceless), labor leaders, and those working to better this country, and to bring opportunity to more and more of its citizens and immigrants. They do this by teasing white male rage with issues like affirmative action, slapping white males in the face with fears of blacks, women and other minorities, who are still-still-still discrimminated against for jobs and housing and by the police, stealing their jobs and their rightful place in white man's America. It is the politics of division, the same tactics Hitler used against Jews, or Rwandan Hutus employed before exterminationg a million Tutsi neighbors. It is a trick, a corrupt slight of hand, shiny keys distracting the real perpetrators of division and injustice in the country.

Last week Rush Limbaugh illustrated the Republicrook position perfectly. He said the conservative position, as he sees it, should be about defeating and destroying Democrats. destroying-I'll say it again-destroying Democrats. This, while railing against conservatives who are not extremists, and are willing to work with their Democratic counterparts. I don't want to destroy conservatives, at least not the reasonable ones-who are certainly in the majority. I will argue, and perhaps scream. I'll be passionate and even aggressive, but I don't want to destroy them. But this is who has taken over the conservatives in America, extremists who only know that they are right, and anyone with a different perspective must be destroyed, defamed or imprisoned.

Zealots, living on the cusp of sanity, like Michael Savage, men and women who advocated boycotting France and the Dixie Chicks don't like it when someone boycotts them for their inflammatory speech. In Savage's case he has filed a suit against CAIR who took offense to his bigoted anti-Muslim diatribes, exaggerations, lies, historic manipulations and blatant hatred. He says they are undermining his free speech by attempting to removing him from the public-the public-THE PUBLIC airwaves. No one is is saying he can't spout his crap under an highway underpass where he lives with his belongings and a couple of imaginary friends. This millionaire, with boats and houses calls himself a victim and begs for donations from his mostly working class listeners to pay for his legal battle(All kinds of things wrong with that). I guess the hypocrit Savage only values freedom of speech when it is his or other Republicans.

This country needs a house cleaning. Our gene pool needs a filter, 'cause Republicans and idiots have been peeing in it. We need a change, a new face that represents the diversity, the possibliity of a better and kinder future. It needs hope instead of manufactured illusions of "the good old days" (weren't good for blacks that got lynched or couldn't eat at lunch counters) or a status quo that favors the piggish white men who rob us of our hope. It needs to remove corporate influence in elections, and return the country to all the people. We need to be that shining star on the hill, because merely thinking of ourselves as a shining star don't really cut it. We need to remove the immoral nauture of our healthcare system in favor of something that serves as standard for all the world. We need an economic system that isn't merely the ruin of the American Dream, so that honest Americans use the term as a ridiculous notion, an unattainable concept, or something that becomes more and more of a feudal dream in which we become serfs for the wealthy. until then the State of the Union is not strong.,

You left out the accusation that we're all racists.

I'm sure you're a fine American but you've bought into every Leftist propaganda point on the agenda. I often wonder if you and others of your type had been indoctrinated to be on the Right you would be equally single minded for those causes.

All sad, but true. I did myself a big favor--I didn't watch or listen to him and his vainglorious attempt to spread cheer to the "troops".
